From December 11 to January 10, bright light projections can be observed on the facade of the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” from 20:00 to 22:00.

On Manezhnaya Square there will be a cycle of bright light shows devoted to the Year of Ecology, as well as upcoming holidays – New Year and Christmas. Spectacular performances are scheduled to be held daily from December 11 to January 10. Each show will last two hours – from 20:00 to 22:00.

Light projections under the musical accompaniment will turn the building of the Manege into the Milky Way with the planet Earth, then to the residence of Santa Claus with magic characters, then to the Christmas theater under the wings of the angels. Music will be accelerated or slowed down in time with changing light patterns.

“The bright multimedia show consists of three parts. The authors of the unique performance dedicated the first part to the planet Earth. The second and third – the approaching winter holidays: New Year and Christmas. View townspeople light show from anywhere in the Manezh Square, “- said Nikolai Gulyaev, head of the Department of Sport and Tourism in Moscow.

The main character of the light installations of the first part will be Golem – a mythical being, personifying everything created by man, not nature. It is a collective image of all the technological achievements that have been called to enslave nature and make people’s lives easier. However, after centuries of irresponsible treatment of natural resources, the Golem turns into a destructive, self-devouring force. But nature can resist it, reborn again. With the help of light projections, viewers can not only imagine how destructive for the planet human activity can be, but also see how beautiful the revival of nature is. On the facade of the Manege flowers will blossom and ripen fruit, ice will melt and waterfalls will flow, out of nothingness the planet Earth will be born.

Another plot of the New Year’s light show is dedicated to the mysterious home of Father Frost, the whole factory at the North Pole, whose main task is to fulfill the desire of every child on Earth. The bright ten-minute video is divided into 13 scenes. In a fairy tale story tells how to create gifts in the New Year. In the residence itself there live fantastic creatures that help Santa Claus to transform the dreams of children into gifts.

The final part of the light presentation will be the Christmas story and related traditions. First at the Manege will be shown the starry sky, the image of the Virgin Mary and the rising of the bright sun, symbolizing the appearance of the baby Jesus Christ. The authors intentionally departed from the canonical depiction of biblical characters and presented them in a slightly naive aesthetics, combining the stylistics of early Christian frescoes and children’s drawings.

Then the building of the exhibition hall will turn into a village street where the dressed inhabitants go to their houses and carol, then to the Bethlehem star, which will appear from the snowflake, then into the Christmas toys. For a few seconds Manezh will cover the wings of angels.

Impressive light shows on the facades of capital buildings are traditional for city holidays. In September, the annual Moscow International Circle of the World Festival is held. This year it was held for the seventh time. Within five days residents and guests of the capital could see unusual architectural video mapping on seven city sites. The Ostankino tower turned into the Parisian Eiffel Tower, the Dubai skyscraper of Burj Khalifa and the New York Empire State Building.

In the capital from December 22 to January 14 there will be a festival called “Journey to Christmas”. Boulevards, squares and lanes of the city will turn into a theatrical stage. Performances, performances, concerts and master classes will be held daily non-stop from 10:00 to 23:00, and on December 31 – from 10:00 to 03:00. The main areas of the holiday will be Tverskaya Street and Red Square, as well as Manezhnaya and Tverskaya Square, Revolution Square, Rozhdestvenka Street, Novy Arbat and Arbat, Kamergersky Lane, Tverskaya and Gogol Boulevards, Klimentovsky Pereulok and Novopushkinsky Square. For the first time its festival program will be presented on the renovated Sadovoe kolco.
