The main New Year’s spruce of the country is carefully transported to Moscow, special measures have been taken for this, the chairman of the forestry committee of the Moscow region Ivan Sovetnikov said on Friday.
On Friday at 12:00 on the territory of the Podilsky forest district in the urban district of Domodedovo the main Christmas tree for the Cathedral Square of the Kremlin will be felled. The age of the tree is 90 years, the height is 27 meters, the diameter of the trunk is 60 centimeters, the sweep of the lower branches is 10 meters.
“We did our best to take it out carefully. Today it is planned to harvest. On Sunday we will deliver to the Cathedral Square of the Kremlin, then it will be decorated on Monday-Tuesday, “Sovetnikov said.
He noted that the transportation of a Christmas tree is a complex operation, for which a special timber carrier is needed.
