WiFi popularity in Moscow public transport increased by 40%

Moscow residents have become more likely to use free Wi-Fi in public transport since early 2017, according to the portal of the mayor of Moscow.

According to Mosgortrans, the Wi-Fi popularity in public transport has grown by 40%.
So in January, passengers of buses, trolleybuses and trams entered the Internet with free access about 1.6 million times, in December – 2.1 million times.

As the director of the information technology and communications service of SUE “Mosgortrans” Dmitry Erzamaev explained, the number of access points to Wi-Fi is constantly growing.

They already appeared on 600 stops of public transport, located near metro stations, the Moscow Central Ring (MCC), bus stations, suburban railway platforms.

Free Wi-Fi is also available at the bus stations serving long-distance and international flights (Warsaw, VDNH, Krasnogvardeyskaya, Novogireevo, Orekhovo, Teply Stan, Tushinskaya and South Gates).

As reported BakuToday, in Moscow, free Wi-Fi will appear in 12 parks, 70 museums and 151 cultural centers in Moscow. At some sites installation of equipment has already begun.

Until the end of December, more than 400 points of access to Wi-Fi will be installed in 78 cultural centers and another 50 – in five metropolitan parks.

In addition, access to wireless Internet will appear in 646 metropolitan schools, and by 2018, 1125 additional educational institutions will be connected to Wi-Fi.

We want to remind that at present there is free Wi-Fi on 200 streets in the center of Moscow and 24 city parks.
