The new section of the Kaluga Highway was opened today by the Mayor Sergei Sobyanin after the reconstruction. Three overpasses and a bridge across the Desna River were connected with the Moscow Ring Road by the village of Vatutinki, and now thousands of residents of the annexed territories were able to reach the subway in just 20 minutes.
The reconstructed segment of Kaluga includes three overpasses and one bridge across the Desna River. This made it possible to turn a two-pole loaded road into a modern high-speed highway. Taking into account the new lateral thoroughfares, 11.6 km of roads were put into operation. Among them there is a viaduct at the turn to the village of Miloradovo, a reversal crossing over the Desna River, which allows to turn towards MKAD while moving to the region. And most importantly – the bridge through the same water artery, which gives an additional three lanes.
“The next stage of the highway reconstruction is the extension to the Central Ring Road,” the mayor recalled, “The work is seriously overtaking the schedule, and I hope that this site will be launched by June next year.” As the representatives of the company-contractor informed, the readiness of the segment is 65%. The main objects will be a bridge across the Pakhru River, overpasses in Vatutinki and at the intersection of the highway with the road connecting the village of Pykhchevo and the residential complex “Sosny”.
Residents of TiNAO asked the mayor whether there will be new public transport routes linking the settlements. The head of the city noted that gradually local roads are under construction, and next year the implementation of the whole program to improve the transport accessibility of the new neighborhoods of New Moscow will begin. In addition, the design of a new metro line, which will take place from the central stations of the subway and the MCC to Kommunarka, began. In the same area the construction of the largest clinic in Moscow began. It is expected that there will be an outpatient clinic, a modern hospital and a hospital.
